Advanced Additive Manufacturing Techniques

Instructed by TechWorks, Eng. Alaa Aldaamsah

Course Overview

Advanced manufacturing course focused on the fast fabrication of a physical part, model or assembly using 3D computer aided design (CAD). The creation of the part, model or assembly is completed using additive manufacturing printers. This course is divided for five weeks, each week have different type of additive manufacturing printers, we specialize in three processes, bringing you everything you need for custom 3D printing projects, from rapid prototyping with FDM, SLA and SLS printer. Also, for each printer we have different software to aid the design considerations and printing process, from 3d modeling to print simulations and slicer programs. In this course, we will prepare learners for the engineering industry, particularly for prototyping and creating lightweight geometry.

Learning Outcomes

Analyze the geometry of a design and determine if it is suitable for 3D printing. Navigate the user interface and identify the key features and settings in Cura Use Cura to slice and prepare 3D models for printing. Understand the unique features and capabilities of Preform software. Utilize Preform to prepare 3D models for printing on Formlabs printers. Compare and contrast Sinerit studio with other 3D printing software options. Use Sinerit studio to design and modify 3D models for printing.
