Dr. Sameer Arabasi is an Associate Professor at Al Hussein Technical University, Amman, Jordan, and currently serves as the Dean of Social and Basic Sciences. He received his B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Jordan, Amman, Jordan, in 1999, his M.Sc. degree in applied physics from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Charlotte, NC, USA, in 2001, and his Ph.D. degree in physics from Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA, USA, in 2008. From 2010 to 2011, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at McGill University, Montreal, QC, Canada, where he worked on nonlinear optical fibers. From 2012 to 2019, he was an Associate Professor of physics at German Jordanian University. Dr. Arabasi's research interests include optics, physics education, and multimode systems. He has been an active MATLAB user for over 20 years and has authored many scientific journal papers directly related to MATLAB or where MATLAB was the simulation/computational tool. His contributions have significantly advanced the field of optics and physics, and his work has been recognized and cited by his peers in the academic community.
